I'm a little down today...my friend Brent Beaulieu died last night. Gloria called me yesterday morning and said the doctors gave him about three days...well, that went fast, huh? At least he's not suffering anymore.

Wonderful Christmas Day

Had a great time at Gram's...and everyone loved watching my old home movies on the cd Den made!! As a matter of fact...Gram kept it!! So I'm hoping I can burn another from the ones on my puter!!?? Gotta run...Ruth is picking me up and we're going out for the day!! Love you all!!

We got dumped on!!

Yup..got about 18 inches of snow yesterday...and avoided an accident by the skin of our teeth coming out of Livermore Falls!! A pickup truck ran into the side of the car in front of us!! Mike swerved around them and kept right ona goin!! Had a great time!! Den made me the best omelet I've ever had at "Dennys'!!" It was awesome!! They gave me a digital photo frame!!

I love it!! Had fun playing with the baby!! But the bestest thing...Den put my old super8 movies on a cd for me!! wooooohooooo...I finally get to see MY babies again!! Love you all!!

More Snow today!

Yup...lookin like another year like last year! More snow on Sunday too!! We are still going to Den's but gonna hafta come home early to beat the snow!! Bummer!! Kids are gonna decorate some big ol' molasses cookies!! Hope Alexis likes them!! Can't wait to see them all! Love you!!

Great news!!

They moved Phil to a rehab place yesterday and said if he progresses well..may be HOME for Christmas!! Yippeeee!! He wants to go home so badly..poor guy!! Mike is in Portland today in all this snow!! Lyn is not feeling well..poor woman! And it's NOT supposed to snow until Sunday night..so we can still go to Den's for Christmas/Birthday party!! Wooooohooooo!! Love you all!!

I think Joyce is permanently lost at Walmart!!! Ran into Larry there last night..couldn't find Joyce anywhere!! Maybe she was kidnapped!! OH NO!! Hey, I hear it's supposed to snow on Sunday!! We are supposed to go to Den's for Christmas on Sunday!! What gives??!! Love you all!!

is anyone out there?? Good news on Phil..he was sitting up and feeding himself yesterday!! He has found his tongue and was swearing up a storm when they put his back brace on..they HAVE to when he gets up! Glad to hear Lyn is doing better!! Been writing some letters for the Virginia kids..expect them sometime this week!! Love you all...and I'm cold!!

It's Saturday again!

Storms over..very icy around here! It killed my flag on the porch! Knocked the whole bracket out!! UGH!! Gram called me yesterday...she had great difficulty hearing me..said it was my phone..but I don't think so....she is getting very deaf!! She had a bad spell with her leg Monday morning and couldn't get out of bed for a period of time..was afraid she was gonna have to call Rusty home...I told her to get keys for Nancy, Joanne and Larry! They should be able to get in when the door is locked and she's in trouble! She really worries me! Mike is working today at the Meth Clinic in Portland..I hate that place..they are always giving him trouble! Not very nice people there! Well, gotta go on Facebook..love you all!!

Ice storm today!!

Got good news..Mike went in to visit Phil after work yesterday..and he said "Hi Micheal"!!! Wow!!! And they had him up and walking the hall a bit...and he can occasionally take the spoon and get it to his mouth!! Awesome!! He also lets them know how much pain he's in!! Yup..he's improving every day!! yeeehaaaw!! Mike is in Portland working and said at 7am it was already sleeting there!! Hope they let him come home soon!! Love you all!!

When it rains, it pours!

Yup, raining today..I'm still aching but at least the snow is leaving! And it does pour...Mike's mom took her car from Bruce's house yesterday morning to go to her home in North Conway..to get some stuff....totalled the car!! She got a bump on the head and cut on the wrist..but she's ok..just could have been a lot worse!! And there's no way we can tell Phil she wrecked their only good vehicle!! I am going to offer her my car for awhile...poor woman! They were strapped as it is..now with all this...there's no way she can replace her car! Yup, when it rains, it pours! Love you all!!

...and I'm aching...and that's all I got to say.

What a difference a day makes!

We went to the hospital yesterday expecting the worst...and there was Phil being fed some ice cream!! He only manages "yup" but at least he's responding...very encouraging!! Hopefully he will continue to improve each day. Mike's mom was very much better too! Mike is out flagging in this frosty weather today...and told he will be flagging all winter!! Brrrrrrrrrrrr!! So he needs warm stuff for Christmas!! Lol! Love you all!!

Sad times....

Things are very tense around here. They told Mike's mom yesterday that things are going downhill for Phil..he's not responding to anyone anymore...they are going to give him another week to see if he improves...if not, she has to make the decision to let him go! So hard for her..she's a wreck...so is Mike! Doing a lot of tearing up last night...very depressing! Going down this afternoon to see Phil...kinda hate to see him like that! Good thing we spent Thanksgiving with him!! I'm very thankful for that...you just never know, do you? Love you all!

Guess what?!! Mike called at 5 am to see how Phil is doing...and they had him sitting up in a chair!!! His speech is still faulty..but improving...and he seems much more calm now. Unreal!! Another day...

..and Phil is improving...slowly! All he could do was mumble yesterday..they thought they may have to teach him to swallow and speak all over again...then early this morning, he woke up and said three distinct words to the nurse...that I won't repeat!! Yup...he's coming out of it!! As the brain heals, I think he will get it all back again...maybe they could teach him some better words tho! They have a feeding tube in him and he doesn't like stuff like that..poor man! BTW...the road to grandma's house has a new bridge!! It's pretty cool...will try to get pictures next time we go up...and it looks like they are getting ready to tear down the old twin bridges...seems real strange for someone who grew up playing on them!! LOL!! Was really nice to talk to Lyn yesterday...hope she's doing better soon!! Looking forward to the new year without the wretchedness!! Love you all!!

A very trying day..

Mike's stepdad, Phil..a hardworking man of 81...was cleaning snow off his carport Monday when he fell off the ladder! They rushed him to the hospital in North Conway..useless..they had to rush him to Maine Med then. Yesterday, they found that he had a blood clot on the brain and had to do surgery...gave him a 20% chance..but he made it thru the surgery!! Praise God!! We spent the afternoon at Maine Med until we were sure he was awake and out of the woods. He has some difficulty speaking...but that should clear up with time. He has three fractures in his back and neck, so he's in a lot of pain..and they won't do anything about it until his head heals more! Poor guy! But he's a fighter!! Gonna be laid up for quite a while..and Mike's mom is inconsolable!! She was a mess yesterday and we are frightened for her health as well! Yup...a very trying day!! Love you all!!

Yup...14 years ago today...Joshua Levi was born....9 pounds 2 ounces and 21 inches long!! Yup..I know..I was there!! and I still can't believe his mom never screamed once!! she's my hero! Have a great Birthday, Josh...hope the Patriots win for you!!! Love you all!!!

Ok..ok.....

...so I had a great time yesterday!! Martha isn't as bad as I thought...just mildly over-achieving and critical! We got there and they have a foot of snow!!! The kids were all out sliding and running the snowmobile!! Really!! This was in Meredith, NH! Still no snow in Maine. The new stove was a "new" old-fashioned wood cookstove and absolutely adorable!!! She cooked all the veggies on it and warmed the buns in it's overhead oven! And was it ever warm!!! Loved it!! Had a great time with Mike's dad's girlfriend..Elva...she's a gem! The nieces and nephews were all very entertaining! Gabrielle is the oldest..a sophomore in HS...and absolutely gorgeous! What a sweet girl! Food was good but (sorry Martha) the turkey was so dry I almost choked on it! I had turkey, peas, onions and carrots....and three Jack and diet cokes!! Yup...I had a real good day!!! Hope you all did too! Watching Mike's nieces and nephews really made me miss my grandkids!! Love you all!! Don't go out shopping today!!!

Day before T-day....

I'm so glad I don't have to bake and stuff anymore..just don't think I could deal with it! But I do have to go to Mike's sister's house tomorrow!! UGH!!! Did I mention that she's a Martha Stewart wannabe?? Last I knew..she purchased a new range for $5000....omg!! Her place is a real show stopper! Ok..I may be just a tad jealous! But she's soooooooo obnoxious! Anyway, I'm not looking forward to it..the only option I have is to get sick and spend the day alone here....not a good option! Mike has to work at 11 tomorrow night at KB Toys..they open at midnight for their black friday thingy! What ails people anyway to want to shop on black friday?? not my idea of a fun day! So Mike will be sleeping all day Friday.....boring!! Love you all..and have a Happy Thanksgiving!! Eat some pie for me!!

It's raining...

but it was snowing! Nasty out there...and thank God Mike don't have to work today!! Very windy here so I expect to lose power at some point. Always do. Hope it's warmed up a bit in Virginia and they can go out in their t's for Thanksgiving!! Love you all and worry bout Lyn!! Poor girl!

I'm so sorry....

Have I mentioned that I really hate cold weather??? Really!! It's in the 20's here today..and poor Mike is out there flagging in it!! Gotta work Sat this week in it too!! Poor guy!! I just couldn't do it...too cold for my blood! I'm ready to hibernate...put on some fat and sleep! LOL!! Glad Lyn made it out yesterday...that seems to be working out for her...good!! That darn cat!!

I was offline for a couple days cause my modem wouldn't work..had no phone either!! Called them when Mike got home (had to use his cell) and they talked me thru all the "checks"...and said to unplug it and bring it to the Lewiston office to get a new one. When I unplugged everything I noticed that the wires were bare and chewed thru!!! UNREAL!!! it's a wonder he didn't get electrocuted!! maybe he got a shock enough to make him not do it again...I don't think Time Warner is generous enough to exchange it every few weeks!! Very cold here today...and I shouldn't have teased Lyn about her snow...we got snow showers coming in Monday!! UGH!! I hate winter!!! Hope Lyn is feeling better now!! and thanks Den for the new puter you're working on so hard!! Love you all!!

Great night last night!!

MBF Ruth's hubby's band had a little concert last night at a church here in Auburn! It was the first time I heard them (Highway 61) and they were great!!! What a great sound!! Four of them were playing guitars and had 9 guitars between them...awesome music!! They played everything from Grateful Dead to Lady Antebellum!! Even George Strait's Troubador!!! I thoroughly enjoyed it...only one prob...Mike wouldn't get up to dance!!! Something about dancing in church?? Anyway...when we left..one of the guys came out and told me he loved my shirt (my cowgirl one) and that they were all waiting for us to dance!! Bummer!! my feet were justa itching to do so!! Well, maybe we'll get out to another gig soon!! Remember Highway 61...cause they are hot!! and open for any private gigs and parties!! btw...MBFFL Ruth said she really enjoys reading Lyn's blogs and gets bummed out when she misses a day...loves your writing!! it's raining...

and I think I broke a toe yesterday! tripped coming out of the shower and rammed it into the side of the tub enclosure...can't walk on it! bummer! Hope all is well in VA...get rid of that cold yet? and still no venison in North Anson...really bummer! how bout just buying one?? LOL!! Got a massive headache..gonna go....love you all!

CMA awards!

I don't usually stay up that late...but it was really good!! And well worth waiting for the end...to see Shania...I'd been worrying about her! She looked great and said she was gonna start singing again..YIPPPEEE!! And I think Kenny Chesne wanted to date her!! OMG!! And I think Mutt ought to be euthanized!! What a jerk! How bout that George Strait! And I think Carrie is just wonderful...love that new song of hers! I really, really enjoyed the show...but wondered why some people were missing....like Tim and Faith??? and others?? hmmmm? well gotta go...tired today! Love you all!

It spit snow on me yesterday!!

Yup...it's on its way!! I hate it!! MBF Ruth came over yesterday and we shopped again!! Was her last day of vaca...and she spent it with me!! She's sooooo good to me!! We have so much fun together! I really love her...can you tell?? Her hubby's band has their first gig this Saturday night...I'm so excited!! Can't wait!! and it's right down around the corner from us!! woooohooo!! Got Mike's nieces and nephews all taken care of yesterday...phew! What a job! Hope Lyn is feeling better today...cold-wise anyway!! No more coughing!! that makes it just tooooo easy for her to barf!! Poor girl! Well, arms hurt...gotta go! Love you all! BTW...Larry, Ritchie and Dick all got their deer this year!! Come on, Den..I want venison!!! LOl!!

Wrapping almost all done!

Got a box already to send to VA....and every thing else about finished..I'm exhausted! I hope everyone likes it all! Did a lot of painting this year...some I started after Christmas last year! We had a mouse in the wall by the tv...the cat heard it and jumped up on the tv and knocked down my hand-painted clock...needless to say I had to reglue it all back together again...darn cat!!

I'm exhausted.....

and all shopped out!! I'm still not impressed with LLBean...but I love the OshKosh place!! I could spend a lot of time in there!! After shopping in Freeport we decided to go to the Christmas Tree shop in Portland...what a great day of shopping!! We were at it from 8 yesterday morning until around 5 last night!! wooooooooohoooooooo...but today I am sore!! too much lugging of bags!! Ruth was a big help for me tho...she did most of the hard work!! She's so good to me! Gotta run....love you all! I got wrapping to do!

Well...the elections are finally over....

now it's a wait and see type thing! I am not happy about the outcome..but what can you do? I'm hurting today from all that wrapping yesterday. Hopefully I can get a package sent out to VA sometime this week. I think I'll just take them to the UPS store and have them do it...I'm running out of boxes! I've finally done it...I'm old!! I've taken to wearing undershirts!! OMG!!! Every day!! I even wore it out in public on Monday!!! Yup...sure sign of old age!! Love you all!!

I'm beat....

...been wrapping gifts all day!! Almost done..with what I can do at the moment...very glad when it's all done! Den is working on my new puter...can't wait!! Lyn is starting to feel sick and I'm sick for her...wish I could take it all away!! Love you all!!!

Wow...I can't believe it's November already...and I thought I was ready for Christmas!! I feel that panic setting in!! I've gotten a lot painted...but much more to do. Have to send a package to VA...gotta do it soon so's it will get there. MBF Ruth is coming over today...she's on VACA!! Yeaah Ruth! Gonna do my dye job! She's so good to me!!! She lives in Harpswell...so she has quite the drive up here!! Poor thing!! Well, gotta run...love you all!!

I hate halloween.....

dread it every year...really fearful for those innocent kids that may get hurt tonight!! Not to mention the glorification of all things evil! Nuf said on that. I was watching a scrapbooking show this morning and one of the pages they were illustrating had a beautiful little girl on it...and her name was "Emilyn"....now isn't that a cute name?? Hint, hint!!?? Just thot you'd like to know!! Hope all things are well in VA!! Let me know! Love you all and stay safe!!

It didn't snow yet....

at least in my area...some of the hills got a dusting..but we're still white-free! So they got snow in Virginia before us!! LOL!! Ok...here's the news....my daughter is expecting number 7!! Really number 8 because she has had one miscarriage....and I do worry, you know! I'm very glad about the baby...really...I am! But I do worry about my daughter's health...she gets sooooooo sick when she's pregnant! And her due date is in July!!! Gotta be a girl!!! well, gotta go..bad arms today! Love you all!!

Note to self....

NEVER have another flu shot!!! No matter what they say at the drs...it's just not worth it! I was soooooo sick!! Never again! Cold and rainy today...after two days of nice sun and 60's!! And they say snow for tomorrow!! UGH!! Got some news yesterday but don't feel I can mention it until she does.....so I will wait!! Sent out some letters to Virginia this morning...keep watching the mail Princess!! Love you all!!

Phew!!!

I'm sooooo glad that's over with!! It had been about ten years since I had a complete physical...and hopefully it will be another ten years before I get another one!! HATE IT!! I still weighed 164....so either I lost weight and the apples made me gain...or just didn't lose anything...don't know. I only get weighed when I go to the drs...so I won't know until January appt what's really going on. And that was late afternoon and fully clothed...but still depressing! All my bloodwork came out excellent...but my blood pressure was up some...like you're about to have a physical and your blood pressure WOULDN'T go up???!! DUH!! And he also made me promise to call for a boob press...oooops, I mean mammogram on Monday!! UGH!! He also upped my dosage of anti-depressants for the winter....I have a problem with lack of warmth and sunshine...seasonal disorder they call it...I call it MAINE!! Got my car registered finally...now I gotta have my brakes checked...they are making funny noises...I don't think the guy fixed them right last time! I got Brain Age game for my DS yesterday...found out I have the brain of an 80 year old!! How's that for depressing!!?? the dr also gave a flu shot...so guess who's not feeling too well today!! I don't know...is it all worth it?? Do you get flu shots?? Have physicals?? What good has it done you?? Gotta go lie down, I think! Love you all!!

It was cold and rainy tho...real bad day!! I'm very sick to my stomach today!! I have a drs appt this afternoon and he's going to give me a complete physical...been talking him out of it for years...but not this time! UGH!! I'm sick!! And if I have gained weight..no more apples for me!! Gonna be interesting...but sickening!! I'll let you all know what happens!!

They said it!!!

They actually are predicting SNOW for tomorrow!! 2 to 4 inches in northern Maine and possible mix in the foothills!! UNREAL!! I have a feeling we're in for a tough winter! If we get snow like we got rain this summer, we're gonna get buried! BTW....Mike got home late Saturday and we decided to go to 99 for supper!! I had steak tips for two days!! Whooopeeee...mmm..mmm.mmm..mmm...mm!! Just wanted to make your mouth water!! Still haven't heard anything from Virginia...don't make me come down there!!! LOL!! Love you all!!

Monday again already??

Mike has been working every weekend...so I never know what day it is anymore! Except there was a race on yesterday...and it sucked!! Really wanted Jeff Burton to win again!! oh well. Got some bad news today from my friends Gloria and Brent....his cancer has spread throughout his body and it's only a matter of time. I knew this was going to happen because he didn't want any treatment when diagnosed with prostate cancer. Hard on Gloria tho...feel bad for her! Haven't heard anything from Virginia lately...are you guys still there??? What is going on?? Love you all!!

I'm sooooo proud!!

Next Tuesday night, my incredibly smart grandson Justin will be honored at a ceremony inducting him into the National Honor Society!!! He deserves it..he is soooo smart and dedicated to learning!! I am really hoping to have some pix of the ceremony to share with everyone!! He is a junior this year and only needs a couple of credits to graduate next year! He is a fantastic basketball player and hopes to continue playing in college...UMaine look him up!!! Congratulations Justin!!! Keep up the good work..this looks great on college apps!!! Love you all!!!

Hump day....

The time sure does fly by, huh? Den says he's still working on my new puter...maybe for Christmas this year?? LOL!! Sun is out today but it's cold! I hate cold...did I mention that?? Love Lyn's new pix..check 'em out!! Those kids are sooooo adorable...and I ain't just bein prejudiced...much! My brother has a date this weekend..I'm excited for him..bout time he started living a little!! She's a teacher at Mt Blue!! Only problem..she has 3 teens..and we know what that can do to a relationship!! He's already been thru enough...so maybe just date but not get serious or anything! Told ma to ask her if she likes dancing! Can't wait for my favorite band to start getting some gigs!! Love you all!!

Is it Tuesday already??!!

Been busy painting...Mike worked all weekend! They are trying to get a job in Portland done before Friday..so I ain't seen much of him! My bestest friend, Ruth, came over yesterday to take me to get some bloodwork done. My car registration ran out and I can't afford to get it right now...Mike also said he thinks I have a wheel bearing going..UGH! So it sits. Guess what??!! I had the first apple I've eaten in 5 years last night!! It was a cortland and it tasted wonderful!! Now if I could just not feel guilty about eating it! a lot of carbs in an apple!! gotta go paint...love you all!

Sun is shining and looks to be in the 60's today...not bad for October in Maine!! Also, I finally got refunded for my Norton Security! I ran the Norton for a week and it got corrupted files...then the tech worked on it for over 5 hours and totally screwed up my puter! They were no help at all...so I told them I wanted a refund. After two weeks of giving me the runaround...they finally admitted that I had to contact a third party that my Norton was charged to! UNREAL!! Be careful what you're downloading on the internet....you just never know who is really selling it! And I will never use Norton again....what a bunch of idiots!! Gotta go paint...love ya!!

Where's the heat???

It was supposed to warm up a little this week...ain't seen it yet! Cold and rainy today...bummer! I got my recliner covered! It was not easy for me...but it looks clean and it's waaaaaaay comfy!! I will take some pix as soon as I figure out how to plug my camera into this old puter....not all my usb ports are working and I HATE having to change out stuff!! I like the way this 2000 is working tho...I have a Bookworm Delux game that I bought years ago...and could never get more than a 2 million score because the darn thing would shut down on me all the time!! Well, I have well over 7 million now and still going!! Good game cause I can save and restart at any time!! Now text twist and scramble are fun...but the mouse isn't as responsive and very hurtful for me after a short time period. Love you all!

It's cold!! I think it's gonna get much colder before we're done tho! It was in the 30's this morning...but the sun is shining so we should reach maybe upper 50's today! woohoo! I hate cold weather! Lyn called last night while I was sitting here shivering...said the kids were outside with no jackets!! UNREAL!! Time to move south!! They also have more daylight time! a real plus! I hope her legs are feeling better today..nothing like a nice hot soak in the tub for aching muscles! I am going to finish up some painting projects today and start some new ones...still working on Christmas gifts....this is definately going to be a 'homemade Christmas'.....no money to spend this year! I think everyone is in this same boat! I say if you can't make it...don't give anything!! No matter how it looks...homemade is from the heart! Besides...what do you give teenage boys???? Maybe a little free advice...? LOL!! Love you all!!

Shhhhhhhhhh...sun's out..don't scare it away!

Finally!! I feel like a heavy burden has lifted off my shoulders! Ok...here's the deal...went to Walmart last night to look at chaise cushions...of course they didn't have any in the store...so I went online and ordered one for my recliner. I had them send it to the store so I wouldn't have to pay shipping on it..saved myself almost $16!! Anyway, I have a couple yards of upholstery fabric that I bought years ago to cover my cedar chest with...I think I have enough to put over the new cushion and staple it right to the armless recliner that I have. Anyone want to come over and help me?? It's a power stapler!! Hard on the arms! But I think this will work..definately more comfy and cleaner than that old recliner of Mikes!! Mike has to work tomorrow...so it looks like I'm home alone again. But we're thinking of putting the bike in storage Sunday morning and then hitting the Fryeburg Fair!! LOVE that fair!! I really hate rain....

...but it's better than snow!! aching...really aching today. I am beginning to think that the new trend in tv shows is the gorier the better. Bones is one of my favs and last night it was more gory than usual. Sickening really. But Til Death was a good break afterwards...I like that show too!! Need some advice. I took Mike's old (and I do mean old) recliner and took the wooden arms off because I can't rest my arms on anything. But the recliner is very "boney" now and I need to either recushion it or find another. Looked for recliners without arms..almost non-existent or too expensive. I can't really afford a new chair anyway. So should I get like an outdoor cushion for chaises and cover my chair with it?? I would like something that's not too embarrassing when I get company. Should I just get some cushions and material and attach to existing chair? I want to keep it recline-able tho?? What do you think??

Raining again....

...like we need it! Makes me ache all over...and sleepy! We are in trouble if we get snow like this! Loved House last night but the verdict is still out on Fringe. It's interesting I guess...but the torture thingy was a bit graffic...even for me! Don't know if I'm gonna like this show or not. And Wilson is back next time on House!! Of course I like the new guy...but Wilson is neat too. Poor House is gonna lose his dad...should be a good one. So what's up with next week?? No House or Fringe?? Anyone checking out the new Survivor...got an old guy from Maine on it...should be interesting! He's the Bill Nye wannabe!! Love you all...gotta rest the arms!

It finally stopped raining!!

We have had more than enough...floods everywhere...hope we don't get snow like that this winter!! I think I'll just hybernate anyhoo! Already it's too cold for me! Just put a beef stew in the crockpot for supper and my arms are killing me! Why did I have to buy the heaviest pots and pans in town??? Too much!! So what is Lou doing in Virginia Beach?? That's not permanent is it?? Love you all!

Well...here we go again!!

Got my "old" puter back from Den yesterday...took me all afternoon to get it up and running...but....it will do until he gets my new one fixed with Vista....having a hard time with that...glad it's him and not me tho!! I've really had it with puters...and my arms are killing me!!! We had a good time tho...met at Sam's Club in Augusta...I had to do some shopping and then took Den, Justin and Josh thru to do some...was waaaay fun!! love you all!!

The Toy Run!!

It was a bummer!! Rained the whole time and we got soaked!!! But we did it for the kids!! Unfortunately the turn out was not as good this year...but still good stuff!!

I hate cold......

....it is really getting cold here! I'm not looking forward to another winter. Just sitting here drinking my coffee and contemplating another winter...very depressing!! Has the kids gotten their mail yet? Tell the older ones that they can practice writing...by writing to ME!! Still looking for those videos of Alexis!!?? Come on now...you can do it!! Love you all!!

If you wondered where I been for a couple of days....my puter wouldn't turn on..the power supply box bit the dust! Cost me $100 to get a guy out here to fix it!! But she's working now!!! If anything else happens...I'm throwin it out the window! Sorry, Den...but I've had it!! My arms are aching so much from trying to get it to work....just ain't worth the extra pain pills! It's raining....

had a major tstorm this noon time...wow! quite the boomer! Well, I have all my Christmas shopping done for VA!! Just waiting on a couple of things that I ordered to arrive...then all will be wrapped and ready to go!! Love the new pic, Lyn....now if that ain't worth comin home to, I don't know what is!!?? Stop droolin Lou!! And go home!! Love you all!!

Bad news...

Mom just called...my uncle Nelson (the nice one!) passed away yesterday morning! Went to fix his morning coffee and that was it! He would have been 81 the end of this month. Needless to say, Mom is very upset...and sad...but she takes things in stride...she's amazing!! Her biggest worry this morning was that the other uncle, Llewellyn...would come up from Maryland and take over the funeral arrangements and make it a Mormon spectacle! Nelson was NOT a Mormon! Oh well, hope all goes well. It was FREEZING here this morning...gonna go sit in the sun to warm up my hands!!

Been offline for two days!!

My Internet Explorer has been acting up...so I ain't been online. Hopefully it has cured itself!! Check out Lyn's new pix!! They are great! Hope she is feeling better today! Gram is doing fine...a little down because she just can't do her canning and stuff like she used to...really!! She's sumpin else ain't she??!! I got her some Vermont maple syrup in a glass jug that looks like maple leaves...she loved it! I also found a cute box of stationery for her in one of those cute little General Stores...she loves that too! Gotta run....love you all!

Don't know if I will ever get better!! It was worth it tho! Looking forward to some new pix from Lyn and some videos from Den.....I wanna see that baby!! Gonna go visit gram tomorrow and take her the maple syrup I got her in Vermont! Love you all!!

Still recuperating....

by the time I got the cat box cleaned and vacuumed...my arms were dead this morning! Kinda stinks if you know what I mean!! I think the thing I loved the best about Vermont was the farms....very much farmland up thru Smugglers Notch and northwards....soooooo beautiful!

You can take the girl out of the farm...but can't take the farm out of the girl!! LOL!!

The guy that owns the elk restaurant has a 500 acre fenced in hunting ground where you can purchase the opportunity to hunt anything you want, elk, bear, moose, etc. I didn't think it sounded very sporting! Said it took a guy two weeks to bag a reindeer....meanies!!

I'm kinda bumming today, I don't have any pictures of my babies!! My ex took the photo album with my babies' pix in them...and won't share....so I have nothing to compare my grandkids pix with! A mom should have pix of her babies!!! Maybe my son could figure how to get stills from the old movies I had??? Hmmm???

What a weekend!!

We had such a great time! Stayed in Barre, Vt the first night...went to the Champlain Valley Fair on Saturday...Tobey Keith was there but all sold out for the show :(....made our way up through Stowe and Smuggler's Notch on Sunday..almost into Canada!! Fall has hit there...the leaves were changing big time!! My bro Larry and I had elk burgers for lunch Sunday!! They were good...different but good!! That restaurant was fascinating!! Came back thru NH and stayed in Rumford Center Sunday night then hit the Height of the Land yesterday before we came home!! Was a very very enjoyable and fascinating trip!!!

You are right...it was a cicada!! I've heard them all the time but never saw one up close and personal before!! Awesome!! Getting packed and ready to roll to Vermont tomorrow morning...at 6 am!! What is it???

Come on you smart grandkids and tell me what this HUGE bug was on my flag this morning!! It is at least 2 inches long...and looks like a monster fly!! I also took pix of my wind chimes...got about 25 of them now and looking forward to finding a new one in Vermont this weekend. We get them when we're out riding....a nice treat! Love you all!!

It was in the 40's this morning!! What the heck happened to summer???? I don't know what I'm gonna do when real cold weather gets here! I froze all day yesterday too! Figured I'd better take some pix of my flowers before the frost hits 'em!! And of course, my baby!! Btw...before Lou heads home...we ought to make a trip to the apple orchard!! Good idea??!!

Having some puter problems....

And it ain't funny! Had no power the first time I tried this morning...a little scary! And my fav game...Word Whomp....keeps shutting down on me! How can I beat my kids with it acting like that..yup..gotta have some kind of excuse..they're slaughtering me!!! It is fun tho..keeps the old brain moving...always did like word games anyhoo. Looking forward to trip to Vermont this weekend with Larry and Joyce!! Hope the weather cooperates! My silly cat keeps bringing me pompoms to throw for him...he's so annoying at times!! been sick...

so I didn't do much this weekend..just watched tv alot. Caught the Laurel and Hardy movie marathon on TCM yesterday! Waaaaaaaay funny!! It's hard to believe that the 'brains' behind the comedy team was Stan Laurel...he was a very intelligent Brit!! I absolutely adore him!! Abbott and Costello was good too..but Laurel and Hardy was the best! Hardy died like 8 years before Stan and they said he fell into a deep depression and never really got over it...and he never performed again!! Refused to do comedy again without Hardy!! What a tender-hearted man he was...for being married 5 times..he had to be!! LOL!!!

Still sore...

so gonna make this short and well, maybe not so sweet! Had a great time shopping with MBF Ruth the other day! For all you cross-stitchers and painters out there...I have found the best place to find frames is Goodwill (my fav store)!! They are mega cheap and you can repaint or whatever and frame your goods!! BTW...we had a great lunch at Tin Tin!! Mmmmmmmmmmm!! But I was a little disappointed in the broccoli casserole thingy..wasn't as good as the China Buffet!! Gotta go sit in the sun! Love you all!!

...been busy with housework and wrapping Christmas gifts to send to VA with Lou!! Yup, Christmas...already thinking about it and trying to deal with it the best way I can. But now my arms are killing me...so gonna go!! Love you all!!

The Bands at the Festival....

There were a lot of them...these were the only three we saw tho....top one is Chronic Jazz Syndrome (notice the handsome drummer!) Middle one is Bonnie Edwards and the Practical Cats and the bottom is Roomful of Blues! A lot of good music and dancin!! As I said..we ate free all weekend..the sausage sandwich without bread was awesome and I got a taco salad without the chips!! It was great...can't even begin to tell you all that Mike ate! Of course he was there for the big pancake breakfasts every morning! They had a lot of venders too...but stuff was really expensive, so I just looked and got ideas for jewelry! I liked the leather place the best!! I think Dave's band ForeFront played on the other side of the river (the rock side) but I think they got rained out Saturday night! too bad...good band!! You all have to come next year!!!

What a beautiful final day of Festival!!

We spent the whole afternoon...great bands!! Was very entertaining...and we looked around at all the balloons and found....men in skirts!! LOVE the bagpipe music!! What a wonderful surprise!! I will share some band pix tomorrow. Good bye Balloons for another year!!!

Last night was a wash-out!

But this morning was beautiful!!! We're going back over this afternoon to catch the last launching!! Saw a lot of parasails this morning...could wave and say "hi" to them...and could hear everything the people in the balloons was saying!! Way fun!! I love the balloon festival!!!!

The advantages of having Mike there all night is that he got some great pix this morning! He also got some "festival bucks" so we can go have supper there tonight and watch them launch again!! Hope I can find something that I can legally eat!! Maybe a polish dog or something?? Wish Den and family would come down to see them!!! Love you all!!

Woooooosh!!!

What a beautiful morning!!! Must have been about 15 balloons going over!! Nice compliment to your morning coffee!! I don't think I ever saw the pink checkered one before!! They were a little late getting up because of haze and fog...but took off about 7:30....and as you can see...it was nice...real nice!!

Good news and bad news......

Good news....the balloon festival starts tomorrow!! Yippeee!! I so look forward to it each year and if the weather cooperates, I will enjoy the beautiful balloons with my morning coffee on my porch tomorrow!! I will make sure I have my camera in ready mode, too!! Bad news....Mike has to work security for the festival and will have to babysit the place Friday, Sat, and Sun nights...all night long!!! But he said he would take me over Sat afternoon to watch the balloons launch!! Fun, fun!! Love to see them on my porch but I really love to be on the field with them when they launch!! I highly recommend it to anyone who has never seen hot air balloons up close and personal like!!! Love you all!!

Yet anyway...maybe a tstorm this afternoon...but it's sooooooo good to see sunshine for a while! I've been sitting out on the porch just soaking it in and trying to get warm!! My apartment is so chilly that my paint won't dry on a project I'm working on!! Unreal!! Did you ever have so many things going at once that you get sick to your stomach? Did you ever try to follow a cross-stitch chart with your bad memory in gear?? From the time you read the chart and look at your project...phhhhtttt...gone!! A lot of re-reading and re-reading and re-reading!! I think I'm going back outside!! Love you all!!!

Busy weekend!

Went dancing Friday night at the Silver Spur! What a great time!! They have done a lot of work to the place and the new bandstand is fantastic! Wildhorse was playing..they are pretty good...but not the best I've heard. They did everything from Johnny Cash or Leroy VanDyke to Joe Nichols! Was fun!! Saw lots of old friends..it was great! Went riding yesterday all day...and only got sprinkled on once...but missed a downpour my mear minutes!!! What miserable weather we've had! Was amazed at all the rivers and streams in Me and NH that are right up to the roads!! Joyce found us a little cottage in Vermont with two double beds for $75 to split!! Great deal...can't wait!! We will wing it for the second night...probably in NH somewhere. Have come to the conclusion that only the more expensive places have websites!! Love you all...gotta go rest...my arms are killling me today!!

Still raining!!

and way cold!! It really feels more like October than August....what's up with that? Time to move south, I guess! Does anyone know about the motel/internet ratio? We are looking to bike to Vermont for two days on the 30th and 31st...and the only motels we could find online are around $140 per night!! UNREAL!! I'm thinking that little towns with little motels are not on the internet! What do you think? Should we wing it??

Time to dance!!!

Yeeeeeehaaaaaaaaaa!!! I actually wore my dancing boots yesterday without any pain!!! Had my final drs appt this morning and he took out a couple of pieces of leftover suture...but all was well and healing nicely. Gave me the go ahead for regular dancin!!! Yippeeeee!! I'm goin dancin Friday night!! Wildhorse is playing in Mechanic Falls and I plan to be there at 7 sharp!!! With my boots on!! I just can't wait!! I've missed it so much!

Sad day.....

I just heard from Linda B that Elizabeth Bowie has died! Her mom and dad found her! I'm so sad for them!!! Seems like I just found her again on facebook.com and now she's gone! You just never know, do you? Please pray for Becky and Jeff! Mike has to work all weekend..seems like the job they are working on in Portland (building yet another hotel) has to be completed in the next few weeks..so I guess they are gonna work as much as possible. Oh well, the over time is much needed! And this weekend looks bad weather wise anyhoooo. All we've had the last few days is rain, rain, and more rain!! I'm getting moldy!!

All things in moderation!

Got about 4 hours sleep last night...this new puter is killing me!! I just don't seem to be able to stay off it..and my arms are dead!! I need to know if boy#4 has a special theme for his upcoming Birthday!? Can't believe he's gonna be 7 already!! Love you all!!

Tstorms.....

I really never liked them...and even more now! Last Thursday, Mike's nephew and wife lost their brand new home (lived in it less than a year) to the storm and tornado in Ossippee NH! Day before yesterday we had a really bad one here...then last night I turned on the news and they said there was a bad storm with wind damage in North Anson, Me....of course I panicked!!! I mean like how many times do you hear North Anson on the news??? and of course I thought the worse....Dedra and baby home alone! So I immediately called and the damage in North Anson WAS on my son's property...his big maple tree split in half...but fortunately it went towards the road instead of the house!! more firewood! Now in a perfect world...it would have hit my ex's house!! LOL!!!! what's the odds, huh????

Happy Birthday, Mimi!!

It's the princess's 4th birthday today!! I can't believe it....my how time does fly!!! She's such a cutie and such a girly girl!! Reminds me a lot of her mom!! I suppose that's what my mom would say too. I really overdid it yesterday with the puter and stuff...didn't sleep hardly at all last night cause of the arm pain!! OUCH!! But I did manage to set up an account on facebook.com....check me out!! Love you all!!
