Very busy weekend!!

We put on around 650 miles this weekend!! Very nice..very fun...very tired!!! LOL!!! We don't plan the rides...just follow...so we went to Crystal Lake NH on Saturday, Colebrook NH on Sunday and New Portland ME to Wiscasset ME on Monday!! PHEW!! The area around Colebrook is gorgeous!! You are a couple of miles from the Canadian border or the Vermont border...just wonderful!! What a beautiful weekend tho. Note the SNOW still on top of Mt Washington!!! Yup..it was a cool ride...we wore full leathers and when we got to North Conway...it was 81 degrees there!! UGH!! But most of the time the full leathers were greatly appreciated!!! That is the wire bridge in New Portland...very scary!!! It is planked and moves a lot!!! The best part of the whole weekend was the surprise that they took the road that goes right past my son's house...so I got a chance to see him and family and he got a chance to meet some of my rowdy friends!! That baby is getting so big and she's soooooo sweet!!! Smiled and coo'd at me!!!

Couse our guys run on their stomachs...so each destination has to include restaurant experiences! Saturday we had lunch at Bea's Cafe in Conway NH..very nice inexpensive place to eat. Mike's mom eats there alot! Sunday we ate at Howard's in Colebrook..very nice!! Great food and reasonable..gave me a HUGE salad..when will I learn to order Half Salad?? and yesterday was the best!! We ate at Big G's Deli in Winslow ME!! If you order a sandwich...get just a half...even Mike couldn't finish the HALF sandwich!! They make their own bread which is about 12x12 inches...and the sandwich is about 5 inches high!! I never saw such a big sandwich!! And the whoopie pies were almost as big as the sandwich!! I had another HUGE salad!! and I do mean HUGE!! will be eating it for the rest of this week!! Highly recommend stopping in there if your in the area!!!

I'm excited...gonna get my toe cut off and my daughter and her family are coming up this week from VA for a vaca!! whoopeee!!

Motorcycles....

...so much fun! Met Judy from Texas and she drives her own Goldwing!! Am I envious or what??!! Motorcycles are so much in today...thanks to the gas prices! We are planning to be on ours for the entire weekend! Can't wait! Ours is old...a 1988...but comfortable and runs great! It ought to..after all the $$ we put into it! But I wouldn't want to trade it in because the newer ones aren't as comfortable...and I am all for comfort!! Especially on a long ride! After about 12 hours on it..even a comfy bike can make your butt sore! But I do wear my helmet...no matter what the weather....safty first.

I'm tired!

Was up until midnight last night waiting for Mike to get home...he didn't..til 6 this morning!! Another 24hour shift for him! This is NOT legal!! He was some cold and tired this morning! They are replacing a lot of old gas pipes here in town and the people doing it keep finding multiple problems when they get the streets dug up!! Unreal! And my spoiled brat of a cat thinks he HAS to have his breakfast at 5 every morning!! Yup..I'm tired! Thinking about perming my hair...what do you think about that?? I've been trying to grow it out...but it's sooooooo straight..can't do a thing with it...and no arm power to deal with it! We'll see.

OK..so I'm a big fat failure!!

And I do mean..big fat!! We took our first club ride yesterday...started out in the rain!! It was a rain or shine event...we went to the Veterans Home in Augusta to give them a park bench for the grounds there...what a nice bunch of people they are!! Well worth freezing to death!! Then we went to Whitefield to the Country Cupboard for lunch..was waaaaaaaaay nice! Then back to Togus where the group played bingo with the vets...a way of 'giving' them some spending money without just handing it over! Very nice!! BUTT....I just couldn't hold out....bummed a cigarette from Bruce and been smoking ever since! I'm a failure...just not ready to quit yet...need to get my toe taken care of first...then I'll quit!! The stress of quitting and losing weight at the same time was just too much!! Forgive me!?

The end is near!!

of my sore toe...I hope! Went for another torture session today as he yet again tried to clean it up...to no avail. So on May 29th (Zeke's bday!) he is going to take the top of my toe right off and stitch her up! Gonna do it in the office too!! Like why didn't he do that a year or so ago?????? I'm tired of this thing! Still not smoking...but it ain't easy...specially when I'm in pain!! And I just KNOW I'm gaining weight!!!!

a nice Mom's day...

took our first bike run up to visit my mom...she's so frail...scares me! was very happy to see us tho! it was COLD!! sun was shining yesterday and temps about 60 but a cold wind!! so we took the car to NH yesterday afternoon to see Mike's mom. she was happy also...practically insisted that we make the trip tho...doesn't realize that gas has gone up a lot!! hope everyone had a great day...love the new pix on Lyn's blog!!

Our baby is home and all bettah!!

Yup...cost about $400 to get her home..but she's worth it! New back tire, rear calipers (sp) rebuilt, new plugs, and something to do with the front forks?? Anyway...she's runnin great...and Mike has to go to Waterville this afternoon to do security!! Bummer!! Well, maybe tomorrow we'll take it up to visit my mom for Mother's Day!! Still smoke-free...getting easier each day....as long as Mike stays smoke-free...I'll make it!!! Love you all!!

Ok..so I'm my own worst enemy!!

I had my last cigarette Monday night! Not gonna smoke anymore...but having a hard time...mainly with what to do about gaining weight!! That was the biggest reason for smoking in the first place!! I have a very slow metabolism and I can't get out and walk like I used to because of my foot...can't do regular exercises because of my arms....and I DON'T want to gain weight!! I feel like I can't eat at all!!! Enough....want to wish my baby boy a HAPPY Belated BIRTHDAY!! It was yesterday!! Hope he had a great one and did something special!! Love you all!!

Bummer day!!

It's raining!! Needless to say we didn't go riding today...and Mike's working all weekend! Found out our bike needs some major stuff done before it's all better!! I really hope it isn't too much!! I can't tell you it all, cause I don't remember or know about such things...but the guy says not all pistons are firing and the rear calipers need rebuilding..and ...and something about forks on the front??? which he said would be like a three-hour job just for that!! Not to mention a new back tire!! So it's gonna be a while before we hit the road! I'm bummed!!

Wow!!

Northern Maine is in bad condition...they had record snowfalls this winter and now are having record flooding! Bridges and dams are in critical condition in places and the governor has declared state emergency there...people are evacuated in a lot of places! But attitudes are good..they knew this was coming after all that snow! And they still have a lot of snow on the ground!! Sugarloaf got 8 inches of snow when we got rain!! They are open this weekend for some skiing if anyone is interested!! Winter goes on in a lot of places here in Maine! Things look different here in Auburn...grass, flowers and trees are all growing well...almost black fly season!! But encouraging...spring is finally here! I'm a little nervous about Saturday's bike ride tho...always get antsy on the first one...like I gotta get my biking rhythm going again....hmmm? How are things in VA??
