It's snowing again!!!
That Kevin Mannix is a liar!! It's not warmer today...and it didn't rain...it's cold and snowing!! I've had enough and won't listen to Kevin again...or Joe Cupo either! Mike's bro was taken to Maine Med again today....didn't pass his stress test!!! They are gonna try a couple more things..he has blockage in bottom half of his heart...and if all else fails, will have to have open heart surgery in the next couple of days. Poor guy..has already gone thru a triple bipass...what next?? And we wanna RIDE!!! He promises to be well by the time the snow is gone...which could be August!! Glad to hear that Piano Man has gotten the extractions over with!! He's done good! That's an awful thing to go thru! But I haven't heard how the MRI went with my son???? Hmmmmmmmmm???

Hope you all had a good Easter. However, I still don't see the correlation between egg hunts and Christ's resurrection...do you?? What HAVE we done to our children??!! Love you all!

Noooooooo...he's not spoiled!!

Look what daddy bought the baby!! He couldn't stay out of it while we were trying to put the thing together...for an hour!! Now you can't get him in it unless you play with it too!! UGH!!! But it is cute! We got it at Walmart and I think Casper ought to have one to play in!! I'll help you put it together!! Cold and windy today..you know..the March Winds thing! But wish it wasn't so cold with it!! Chills me right to the bone! I want pix of the 50's day at work!! What did Tam look like???? I want pix!! Love you all!!

I have discovered.....
....there's only one thing worse than 6 foot snowbanks....and that's yucky, dirty, brown 6 foot snowbanks!!! UGLY!! Went to Portsmouth NH today to stock up the freezer on meats....and they have NO SNOW!! Bare lawns!!! This is totally unfair!! And gas there is $3.09 a gallon...compared to $3.26 up here...or $3.45 on I95!! Now where is the justice in that?? Got some real good deals on steak and pork tho....worth the monthly trip down to Market Basket!! Always have great deals going on! It's a whopping 35 degrees and sleeting out right now..glad we made it home before it started in. I'm aching and tired and want to hear more about Alexis!! Love you all!!

The rosetta stone contest....
Rosetta Stone has been the #1 foreign language curriculum among homeschoolers for a while -- next week they are unleashing a brand new curriculum, and you can WIN the *all new* Rosetta Stone Homeschool Version 3… FOR FREE!
This is a $219 program (and believe me it's worth every penny!) and the winner gets to pick from any of these 14 languages: Spanish (Spain or Latin America), English (American or British), Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Irish, Hebrew, or Russian.
This will also include a headset with microphone, and students will participate in lifelike conversations and actually produce language to advance through the program. Rosetta Stone still incorporates listening, reading and writing as well, in addition to speaking. Many homeschoolers requested grammar and vocabulary exercises, and with Rosetta Stone Homeschool Version 3, they're included! For parents, the new Parent Administrative Tools are integrated into the program and allow parents to easily enroll students in any of 12 predetermined lesson plans, monitor student progress, and view and print reports.
To win this most excellent program -- in the language of your choice -- copy these (blue) paragraphs and post it in (or as) your next blog post -- then to enter the contest, go to the original contest page HERE: http://www.homeschoolblogger.com/JenIG/501132/ and leave a comment with the link showing where you blogged about it. And please make sure the link works to get back to the original contest page when you post it. And good luck! The winner will be picked randomly on March 26, and will be notified thru the link they left to their blog pg. And if you have more than one blog, you can post them and enter those separately for more chances to win. Yay for free stuff!
hope this works!!

She has my spikey hairdo...gonna go on the motorcycle with me!! And what a lunch my son made!! Pot roast, cabbage, carrots...and my fav....spinach and cheese casserole!! Yummmmm!! Course it was hard to put the baby down long enough to eat...yup, I rather monoplized her while I was there. My arms are paying the price now...but it was WELL worth it!! I'm so proud of Dee...she did a great job and is a very good mom!! What a contented little baby!! And do you see the little pink chair? It came with a vibrator thingy...that Uncle Justin found got really, really hot and was actually bulbing up and melting when he discovered it!! It's a wonder that she didn't burn those cute little feet!! Thank you Uncle Justin!! And anyone who has one....check it out...NOT SAFE!!! Love you all!

Best laid plans.......
Was gonna spend today sewing a little prairie dress...well, I got a little done...then got a call that Mike's brother was being taken to Maine Med with a possible heart attack. So we been there most of the day. He's ok...but not great....they are keeping him tonight and gonna give him a stress test and think he may have pneumonia. Poor guy! Don't you just love little old Mom and Pop cafes?? We ate yesterday at Rolly's in Auburn...been there since Noah landed the ark! None of the waitresses look under 65! and move like it!! But the food is great and so are the prices!! And they serve breakfast all day!! Love my omelettes!!! Very anxious to go see that new baby tomorrow!! Den said she slept real good last night! Lucky mom and dad! She's settling right in and eating good too. Love you all! and I love those new windows, Lyn!!

Mixed feelings....
I am so happy about the birth of my beautiful great granddaughter!! My son called last night..just to brag about holding her...and I heard her! She even sounds brand new!! Can't wait to hold her myself!! He said she already has preferences on which "binky" she likes...smart girl!! I'm not so happy with my youngest son's situation. I miss him..but I'm glad to know he's well..you know how mothers imagine the worst! I would like to have him here in Maine where I could keep a close watch on him...but ultimately, if he's truly happier in Washington...well that's where he should be. I just want him to have a happy and fulfilled life. Love you all!!

More snow coming!!
I don't think we'll ever have spring in Maine...gonna have snow all summer! I'm still looking at 6 foot bankings and my granddaughter in VA is picking wildflowers!! UGH!! I'm seriously thinking of taking a bus trip down there! I'd like to move down there...but just don't have the $$ or the muscle for it!! Can't wait to see my great granddaughter this weekend!! Want to hold her bad!!! Love you all!!

Alexis is born!!
Yippee!! She arrived at 9:30 this morning..and her poor mom has been in labor since 11am yesterday! They sent her home last night only to bring her back about 4:30 this morning! She's been a real trooper tho! I'm proud of her! Alexis weighed in at 8lbs 2oz and is 20" long! And Den says she's hairy!! He's going to email me some pix tonight...yippeee!! I think the whole thing was harder on Tam tho! I know what it feels like to stand there and watch your daughter go thru this for the first time and not be able to spare her the pain!! UGH!!! Den and Tam are gonna be fantastic grandparents!! Love you all!!

The waiting game....
...don't you just hate waiting for people?? TimeWarner is coming today sometime to give me new internet access and phone service. Hopefully, I will have the same phone number and this is going to save me lots of $$...we will see. But I hate waiting!! They said between 7am and 11:30am....that's a long wait for impatient people like me! I'm also waiting for my great-granddaughter to make an appearance!! But I'm a little more patient with that wait. I feel that a baby will appear when she's ready and not before! God knows what He's doing, you know!! Will let everyone know my new email addy as soon as I get it. IF they ever show up!!

Ok, ok....
So they got this 17 month old girl on the Today show that can read. Both parents are speech therapists and I believe she's had some pretty intense training along the way. So what?! My youngest son could read at that age too. Knew his whole alphabet and numbers from 1-20...you could mix them all up and he would tell you what they were. At 11 months he knew all his shapes and could tell you what a rectangle and triangle was....even pronounced them well...I was told children of that age couldn't say three syllable words...HA!! He learned, I believe, from just watching Sesame Street...understood the concept of each letter and it's sound. At 18 months, he was lying on the living room floor on his Dad's newspaper...studying it intently...then piped up with "Coach McPherson"!!! And pronounced it correctly!! We had never mentioned this name or any like it before! So.......just wanted to say that she ain't the only smart kid around. And we did nothing to "train" him...just made the words available to him. I wish he would come home from Washington...I miss him!

Looks like we're having a baby!
My granddaughter's doctor called and wants to induce labor on Tuesday at 6:30 am!! So I guess Alexis will be here sometime this week! I can't wait to hold her!! I'm excited!! I hope for Dedra's sake that it doesn't take long...but inducing isn't a picnic...been there, done that!! With Den!!

Looks like it got kinda hot in Greene!!!

I'm totally shocked!! I hadn't heard about this at all! It hasn't been plowed out at all so must have happened last fall sometime. I used to sleep in there!!! Don't know what happened but it is definately a total loss. Roof has caved in but that could have been result of all the snow on it after the fire. I knew they were unhappy with the house...but still.....................

I'm in LOVE!!!
With Mike of course....but also with my new printer!!!! What a difference!!! Anyone looking for a printer...I HIGHLY recommend the Epson Photo 1400!! It even has a cd/dvd tray to print ANYTHING on these!! and the pictures come out soooooooooooooooo professional!! But I think one of the best things...it takes paper up to 13X19!!! It will print off 12x12 scrapbook pages!!!! Isn't that just awesome!!! It's just plain beautiful!! I went out to enjoy the sun today...I think I'm gonna have a wicked case of spring fever soon!! Supposed to be in the 40's tomorrow!! Laugh if you want...but that's like a regular heat wave here!!! and with my toe taped up...I can actually walk without limping!! I can't wear my NB or other "normal" shoes yet...gotta be patient and let the toe completely heal up first...but you know...I'm NOT very patient!! I want it all....and I want it now!!! My nephew is expecting!! Mom called today to tell me...Marco has a girlfriend and she's gonna have a boy in June and his middle name is going to be Timothy!!! Isn't that something!?? Love you all!!

Somebody rescue me!!
It is sleeting out and very icy! Gonna change to rain tho...but gonna refreeze about the time Mike has to head to Portland again. Was on pins and needles waiting for him to come home this morning!! I95 was quite icy this morning! Waiting to hear from those kids at NB!! Hope they got there safely. and this is NOT a good day for my granddaughter to go into labor!! Will spring ever get here? Gonna snow again on Saturday! We are having a major roof collapsing crisis here in Maine. The Walmart distribution center in Lewiston collapsed last night and we've had several schools closed because of cracked beams....what next??!! oh yeah...the flooding!! Roads washing out...bridges washing out....yup...gonna be exciting! Wait til you see all the work being done on the twin bridges in Leeds!! They are progressing quite nicely...will be really different when done! Love you all!

The foot doctor....
He tortured my toe for about 10 minutes yesterday! He keeps slicing away at the scab near my little toenail...I have had it operated on three times and I'm still walking on the side of the toe which creates these build-ups...and he keeps making it sore!! After all this, "I" suggested a piece of tape to straighten it so's I wasn't walking directly on this sore spot. He thought is was a good idea and taped it up for me!! OMG!!! What a difference!!! After three operations on it...all I needed was some darn tape!!! I could have been spared MONTHS of pain with a piece of tape!! And I'm paying him for what????? I'd rather live with tape on my foot than have the two toes fused together...and that's what he wants to do next!!! Not bad enough that I have to be tortured without having to pay big bucks to have it done!! k...nuff complaining! Now the weather....going to have rain, ice and snow tonight...and Mike has to drive to Portland in it!! I'm already sick to my stomach just thinking about it!! You kids be safe driving to NB in the morning...and I mean it!! Got a great granddaughter yet??? Love you all!!

My bro's house in Leeds!!
Yup...gas is high!!
We went to Scarborough this morning to look at the printers at Sam's Club. I noticed in-town prices of gas was anywhere from $3.17 to $3.22...and of course the highway price was $3.41!! Not cheap to travel these days. Got all the way down there to find out I have to order my printer online because they don't carry it in the stores...shouldn't the online shopping site have said so??? Well, they didn't!! I'm getting an Epson 1400....will print 12x12 scrapbook pages and pix up to 13x19!! Now, my question...WHERE do you find 13x19 photo paper????? unheard of!! Anyway, it wasn't a total wasted trip...picked up the box of 1000 packets of Splenda for less than 4 200 ct boxes in the stores around here. Also got other sundry items that we were out of. But I wanted to use my new printer!!! Can't get the old one to print with the magenta...have tried EVERYTHING!!!! gone thru 5 cartridges of ink to do it!! Yup..I've had enough!!! I really rely on a printer alot!! I've typed up letters to my grandsons and can't print them off....disturbing..very disturbing. I'm like the commercial "I want it all....and I want it NOW!!" LOL!! Love you all!!

Still more coming!!
We got 9 inches of snow and no place to put it! Mike's outside right now trying to help the landlord figure it all out!! Poor guy...worked to 11 last night and has to tonight...but he's been out shoveling off the roof and doing the driveway for two hours now!! Gonna be tired tonight! At least the sun is shining and they are predicting rain for the next one but more snow for next weekend...of course! I can remember when Lyn was little we got a huge snowstorm in the middle of April!! I worry about people that are having roofing problems and possible flood problems coming!! I think a lot of us are ready to move south!!! This is just toooooooo much winter to handle!! It's gonna be July before we can get the bike out!! With the price of gas...we will be traveling on the bike most of the summer!! WOW!!! I pity people who have to travel a lot for work!! UNREAL!! Well, gotta run...love you all!!

Snowing again....
We are already getting flooding warnings for this spring...nice state of Maine!! Was really busy yesterday...my friend came over and we dyed each other's hair...she even trimmed mine!! She's very good!! And neither of us can afford to go get it done right now...so we had fun!! Then we went to Great China for lunch and did some shopping after!! Wooooohooooo...I do love shopping!! Got to spend my gift certificate I got for Christmas at Marden's...picked up some nice little girl material! Now to get the arms in shape for sewing!! Well, gotta run...don't forget to watch the race tomorrow!! Love you all!
